The Skip Gram "G-Styk"

This is a set Collection of Photos showing both the airplanes and members of the G-Styk family

The "Viking" was designed for pattern competition in 1974 while Skip was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. His wife Irene is shown holding the 1st version of the Viking. Powered by a Webra .61 Blackhead. It has retractable try-cycle gear and features a diamond shaped air foil horizontal stabilizer

4 GT-1 Trainers

This is the 1st of the series of G-PAX designs. It was intended for "Turn Around Pattern" competition. It is a mid wing - center line thrust configuration using the well proven G-Styk wing. It was powered by a Webra Speed .61 Long stroke engine with tuned pipe. It was sold to "the Red Neck" and eventually met it demise while performing his favorite maneuver which was to make a low pass down the runway, roll inverted and with hard down elevator, go vertical doing axial rolls to about 400 ft altitude. The G-PAX met "terra-firma" when "the Red Neck" erroneously applied "UP ELEVATOR"

Needless to say, they used a broom and shovel to clean up the runway!

Super G-PAX # 1 (Designed in 1990.) Features a larger fuselage, longer "G-Styk" wing powered by an OS 160 Twin four stroke cycle engine turning a 16X6-10 wooden prop

Here is (late)Lt Col. Larry Beason starting his "Super G-PAX" #2 at England Air Force Base, Alexandria, Louisiana. It is powered by an OS 120 4 stroke cycle engine. (Photo taken in 1995.) Skip's dear friend scummed to cancer in July of 2004. In his will G-PAX #2 (Called Ole 5514) was given to Skip. It has been maintained in its' original configuration and still flyable today (2012)
